I just received a deposit in my account in the amount of $7395.93. I filed a claim on 10/18/2018. Im just curious if my claim has been approved because when I log onto the VA website it still states it is pending. I’m assuming this is most likely retro pay dating back to 10/18/2018. Also curious if there is a way to determine my rating from the amount deposited. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

For me and my use, the website has been like way behind, even states that. Did you look at the section where it shows what's paid.

Well, a 10/18/2018 effective date is a 11/1/2018 payment effective date. The 11/1/18 payment was due 12/1/18.

Do you have dependents? Rough guess without knowing exact dates assigned or dependent status is 40% veteran alone rate.

Have you generated a letter on either portal?

I attempted to access the VA site in the area showing payments but it must be down at the moment. I haven’t found a letter on the VA portal. It still states my claim is in evidence gathering. With an estimated completion date on 12/05/2019. Thanks for your. I really appreciate it.

cmise000, go into the Disabilities area of ebenefits. It should have your updated disability percentage and what your disabilities are now that your claim is closed.

I was able to access the portal. I was awarded a 40% disability rating. Thank you all so much for your help. I really appreciate it. Chuck

It does say retroactive pay. I was just curious since the AB8 letter doesn't show any change neither does ebenefits.I was already at 60% so wondering what the change may have been. I guess I will have to wait for the decision letter. Thanks

the portals are not always current so those not showing anything is normal.

As been pointed out eBenefits does not keep pace with the actual claims process.

Hello,

It is quite likely a payment of retroactive VA compensation. However, more info is needed.
1. Did you file a claim for VA benefits?
2. If so, when was it submitted?
3. Have you recently received a letter from the VA that announced a VA award for compensation?
4. Did you recently receive a Chapter 61 disability retirement?

Basically, you need to furnish a full description of any recent applications for compensation.

Did you file a claim for any AO presumptive and the claim was denied? The Nehmer vs. VA triggered those claims and they were approved and the VA paid retro.
