THIM specialises in small-scale education, that revolves around your growth. With small classes, we address your needs and ensure that you develop into a high-quality healthcare professional. We do this in an international context where we closely follow and share current developments in physiotherapy from home and abroad. However, THIM is committed to following the professional profile of the leading Dutch Association for Physiotherapy (KNGF). If you feel comfortable in an activating learning environment and enjoy working with enthusiastic teachers and students, THIM is the place for you!
About THIM University
THIM University of Applied Sciences in Physiotherapy, founded in 1974, has almost fifty years of experience in educating physiotherapists. Today, THIM is a modern educational institute with multiple locations - for example in Switzerland and Germany. THIM is also the only private university in the Netherlands offering a Bachelor’s program in physiotherapy in full-time (Dutch and English) and in part-time (Dutch).
At THIM you become a specialist in posture and movement and learn to help people with preventing, treating and reducing physical complaints. We’re a small university, so we know our students.
We want you to feel at home on campus and build a strong relation with fellow students and lecturers. We are convinced that this increases the enjoyment of the study and therefore the chance of success. You’re always welcome to use the facilities of our unique study and practice center, visit our reinforcement education if you have questions or relax in Schenk, our lounge.

The physiotherapy profession has been developing rapidly. The entire healthcare sector, including physiotherapy, is increasingly faced with new technological applications, internationalization, cooperation with other (medical) professions and entrepreneurial issues about, for example, cost savings and increased efficiency. The physiotherapist of the future is prepared for these and other new developments.

NRTO keurmerk
THIM University holds the quality mark of the Dutch Council for Training and Education (NRTO). NRTO is the branch organisation for private training- and educational institutes in the Netherlands. The NRTO approval is an independent recognition of quality and professionalism, and offers certainty to consumers when choosing THIM.
THIM adheres to the NRTO’s Code of Conduct. Through the NRTO, THIM also falls under the Consumer Complaints Board.

Code of Conduct International Student in Dutch Higher Education
In May 2006 the Code of Conduct International Student in Dutch Higher Education came into effect. Since October 2022, a new version is valid in replacement of earlier versions. The Code of Conduct is a joint initiative of the Dutch government and higher educational institutions and contains agreements which the institutions of higher education have developed to regulate the relationship with international students. The regulations are – for example – about the provision of information to international students and the minimum (language) requirements for admission to an institution of higher education. According to Dutch immigration law, inclusion of an institution in the Register of the Code of Conduct is a precondition for attracting international students from outside the EU.
